I have been searching for any reference to the United States Navy that was working with the Royal Air Force (Royal Flying Corp.) during World War One. While I have found mention of the German Naval Airship Department utilizing their Zeppelin airships, I haven't found anything relating to the British airships of the years 1914 - 1919.

I am particularly interested in this because my father was part of the U.S. Navy, flying in British airships across the English Channel and over Germany. I have several photographs of these airships taken while in the air and being tethered to the ground. The English "rondel" is quite evident on the noses or tails of these aircraft.

My father was in the Navy from April 26, 1917 to January 31, 1919. His discharge certificate indicates he had been stationed in Norfolk, VA, Philadelphia, PA, Cranwell, England, and two others locations in France where I can't make out the names as they are hand written.

I would appreciate any information that may be available on this matter.
