Michael Black (born (January 26,1962), in Brooklyn, New York, United States[1]) is an American Soul/R&B Singer, Music Producer, Songwriter and Music Executive from Brooklyn, New York. He is the son of Donnell Wilson, the first black owner of a McDonald's franchise, Major Radio Station owner, Disco Tech Nightclubs and Barbershops in Raleigh, North Carolina and Dr. Maxine Black, PHD., a Musician, Singer, Songwriter and Entrepreneur. Michael began his music career in 1974 at age 12 while singing with a local band The Mighty Jaycees before been signed to Motown Records. He have worked with several R&B artists such as George Benson, Tevin Campbell, Doobie Brothers, Al Jarreau, Little Richard, Prince, Dionne Warwick, Keith Washington, Good Question, Herb Alpert, Dennis Brown, Al Green, Janet Jackson, Luther Vandross, Sounds Of Blackness, Quincy Jones, Neville Brothers, Alexander O"Neal, Jeffrey Osborne and Shanice Wilson in the late 1980s. He is a former A&R Executive for Warner Brother Records and a former Music Event Planner for A&M Records. At present he is the President/A&R at Nuclassic Records, Founded by Emanuel Rahiem Leblanc, Founding Member of the Platinum group GQ and the VP/A&R at 9311 Entertainment Group founded by Marc Gordon, Founding member of the Platinum group Levert. He have performed with the R&B group GQ and is the Personal Manager for the the Platinum R&B Group Levert. Right after he was born in New York his mother relocated to Raleigh, North Carolina where he was raised by his grandparents. By age 15, Michael became serious about pursuing an career in acting in Television Commercials. He did commercials for Ace Hardware & Company, Kmart, A&P Food Stores, McDonald's, Kool-Aid, Sears, Roebuck & Company, JCPenney and Hershey Company. He attended Sanderson High School, Southern Career Institute and Howard University where he obtained a Bachelor's Of Arts Degree in Music and Psychology. While at Howard University he pledge Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, and is a life member of The Phylaxis Society (Masonic Organization) A Life member of the NAACP, And a 33rd Degree (Honorary) Prince Hall Mason.

Singing[edit]

Michael is a graduate of Howard University Washington, DC. He became the lead vocalist for the freestyle/R&B group The Mighty JC's and did background vocals work the late Luther Vandross.[1] In 1997, his group "Chyll" which he discovered signed a Major Production deal with Joseph Priolo, of Cream Productions who was instrumental in launching the careers of Tasha Holiday, (MCA Records) and Choice ( LaFace Records). His group "Chyll" went on to sign a contract with Rapper Kurupt /Antra Records formally Vice President and Artist of Death Row Records.

Acting[edit] Michael was featured in a documentary "Gangstresses." Produced by Harry Davis; Currently Michael Black is performing with GQ and is The Vice President of A&R at Nu Classic Records and the Personal Manager for the Platinum R&B Group Levert.
