Institutional patterns
[edit]Drugs (especially opioids and stimulants) can change the motivational patterns of a person and lead to desocialization and degradation of personality. Acquisition of the drugs some times involves black market activities and leads to criminal social circle.
My topic is on drug use discrimination. I will be adding about the discrimination of drugs users whose been incarcerated for drug use and are now required to take drug test to get any job even if they are more than qualified for the job.
Many company's in the silicon valley use this practice of giving small dosages of LSD and psilocybin mushrooms to there workers to stimulate the minds of their workers. This practice is called micro-dosing which has become increasingly popular to enhance creativity in the minds of the companies workers[1] .Mircodosing involves taking small dosages of psychedelic substances in order to produce subtle changes in cognitive functions with out modifying their perception. Although the drugs LSD and "shrooms" are illegal, this is still allowed yet there's individuals with criminal records and are in jail for forty years because of either using these drugs or selling them. Yet most companies are using these drugs with consent of the workers to enhance their creativity. LSD has been speculated to improve your mood, enhance your cognition.[2] In many colleges there's a mutual understanding that college students abuse drugs not only for fun and good times but to study and pass exams. The drugs Ritalin and Adderall are stimulants that are prescribed to kids with ADHD yet in college there's an influx of this drug trafficked. These drugs stimulate your nervous system making you awake and attentive. This allows you to study for longer periods of time. these drugs are abused yet there's alcoholics that went through rehabilitation yet are still criticized, ostracized and excluded because they had an illness.

[edit]I like the topic because I think its a really interesting topic and I feel as if you can so much information especially on the cases where companies are micro dosing their workers. Such as are they given consent from the workers to do this and if so what are they trying to achieve by testing their workers. I feel as if the silicon valley case should be under a header called like cases to differentiate different examples you may find while researching.

Drug addiction is a serious illness and is incredibility hard to overcome. Most addicts do not get the proper help they need because their either scared of criticism or there isn't any help available. When they do get help they are still criticized for being an addict at one point but what people fail to realize that addiction can affect the brain mentally.[4] [These final sentences may belong in another section?
