The legend of the Vegas Pink Flamingo.
That said:
As the legend goes, we Las Vegans have many world wide stereotypes. With this hockey team being our 1st professional team, Vegas needed to adopt a call sign. Hockey is a tough court to gain access to due to that pesky 8 foot tall 1.3 inch thick glass that surrounds the rink. Obviously the 1st choice of decorating the ice during a game for a Vegas team was either tossing a showgirl or dead hooker onto the rink. With a close 2nd choice being an 8 ball of cocaine. Vegas = hookers n’ blow after all right...
Anyway- Both the showgirl or hooker poised an slew of inherent problems. 1. You’d have to buy a seat which would pose a financial burden on the chosen patron and 2. Poses an logistical problem by lifting them over that pesky glass mentioned prior.
As for the 8 ball of coke, well honestly no one would just give that up. Go figure. Plus the sudden opportunity of a chemical advantage may be an unwanted result.
So it became so very obvious that the most logical choice naturally was the 3rd choice of tokens The Las Vegas Pink Flamingo! Both portable and easily tossed over the glass the Pink Flamingo has been on the ice throughout the NHL finals in celebration of all things Golden Knights and this tremendous city of Las Vegas!
