Douglas Lee-Moy Shan Wing Chun Sum Faat

Wing Chun Sum Faat[edit]

Is a new age philosophy based on ancient martial sayings of the Wing Chun Kung Fu system. Created by Grandmaster Douglas Lee-Moy Shan and his wife Pei-Lu wherein for a period of more than 35 years they had studied the Wing Chun Kuen Kuit. They recognized that not only could the Kuen Kuit (Martial Sayings) be used for martial enlightenment, but may also be applied to daily life. Initially, it began with Nim Tao (Small Thought) a term they coined for what and how that first small thought, whether corrupt or pure, determines the direction one takes in life's experiences. In understanding how this first thought strongly influences life's experiences whether good or bad, allows the individual with this understanding to better influence their initial thoughts, thereby, manifesting purer and spiritually intuned experiences. Within this is the concept of what they call The Ten Collective Path of the Human Journey (集念十途). From the 40 or more Martial Sayings of Kuen Kuit, the Lee's realized that 22 Kuen Kuit idioms may be applied to help solve the riddles and challenges of daily life. This new philosophy Lee named Wing Chun Sum Faat (詠春心法) Path to the Heart.
