Green links are correct links, red links are links to the wrong page (i.e. not directly to the page it should link to)

'user' signifies the user, who can follow links from a page about cities or from a page about ships, or can get to Amsterdam directly (address bar, Go button, search function).

  • Internal links should point to Amsterdam (city) or VOC ship Amsterdam (green, dash-dot, arrows). Any internal links to Amsterdam should be fixed (red, dashed, arrows)
  • The user following a `bad' link, or searching for Amsterdam, gets the disambiguation page
  • Internal links should point to Amsterdam or VOC ship Amsterdam (green, dash-dot, arrows). Some internal links to Amsterdam should be fixed (red, dashed, arrows)
  • The user following a `bad' link, or searching for Amsterdam, gets the page about the city with a link to the disambiguation page

Technical problem: there is no way to see the difference between a correct and a wrong link to Amsterdam, which makes fixing the wrong links very hard.

Technical problem: people 'fixing' redirects (which *should* not happen) can make `bad' links even worse: Imagine a link that should point to VOC ship Amsterdam, which points to Amsterdam now. If someone 'fixes' this redirect, the link will point to Amsterdam (city) - which is worse than what we started with!

Technical problem: people 'fixing' redirects can re-link a link to Amsterdam (city) to Amsterdam, which will need to be fixed again,
