Lt Cdr Varun’s family is settled at Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India. He has completed his graduation from School of Law, DAVV, Indore. He secured 92.10% in Five year law course. He cleared his All India Bar Council Examination 2010. He is enrolled as an Advocate with the Bar Council of India. In the year 2011, he was commissioned in Indian Navy, as an officer in the Judge Advocate General Cadre.
In June 2022, he retired from Navy, in his last appointment, he was Area Judge Advocate, at Headquarter Tamil Nadu and Puducherry Naval Area, Chennai. He has vast experience in handling Court Cases, Litigation on civil and criminal side, arbitration cases etc.
He was ‘Trial Judge’ in various Court Martials convened at Indian Navy. He was Prosecution Officer in cases for Bribery and Prevention of Corruption. He was awarded with the ‘Commendation Medal’ by the Flag Officer Commanding –in –Chief, Eastern Naval Command, Vizag for his ‘Due diligence in handling court cases’ and ‘Devotion to Duty’.
In Sep 2023, he was appointed as ‘Amicus Curie’ by the High Court of Madhya Pradesh in a Double Murder matter. (Vikram Singh Vs State of MP, CRA 5686 of 2018).
He is an avid golfer with a scale Handicap, he loves to swim, read and write on legal issues, social transformation, philosophy, geo politics and defence strategies etc.
