An old bloke from the north west of England.

To paraphrase the great Willie Nelson: "I aint here, so I am leaving"

Just got fed up of reading two pages of cut and paste about a fictional character in some TV soap - while getting "citation needed" on original reaserch on historical folk.

Case in point The Eight Lancashire Lads I have family photos showing Charlie Chaplin with the family - images of census returns, Stage Posters etc. Every source known to man (bar one) says that Charles Chaplin was born on 16th April - his birth was never registered so there is no written proof. The only known written reference to his birth is in the stage magazine: The Magnet which has him born April 15th - There is a citation - now Editors prove that I am wrong. and that all the other references are right. Since writing that I have found yet another rreference to his birth: The Era (London, England), Saturday, May 11, 1889; Issue 2642 which also has his birth on April 15th.
