2EyesVision is a startup dedicated to the development and commercialization of ophthalmic technologies. Originating as a spin-off from the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), the company was co-founded by scientists Prof. Dr. Susana Marcos and Carlos Dorronsoro.[1]
Developments
[edit]Their first technology is a clinical wearable binocular simulator that enables patients to have real-world experiences of the different corrections prior to procedures such as intraocular lens (IOL) implantation or presbyopic laser refractive surgery[2][3], facilitated by an opto-tunable lens. This lens can change its power when a voltage is applied and is capable of producing periodic variations of optical power at high speed (50 Hz) so when an individual looks through it, provides the static appearance of multifocal retinal images matching real IOL models. 2EyesVision possesses different international patents associated with this development.[4]
Awards
[edit]In 2017, 2EyesVision received the Best Patent Prize from the Madrid government through the Madri+d Foundation for their Sim+Vis technology.[5][6] In 2023, 2EyesVision won the III Open Call for Deep Tech Startups at the Transfiere forum.[7]
