S.S. Jayalakshmi

Starting with a Nursery School in 1973, Smt.S.S. Jayalakshmi the Founder, who was an expert in early childhood education, developed the Institution through her untiring work and dedication supported by her colleagues and today after 4 decades, the school is one of the top schools in Coimbatore located in Thudiyalur on the Coimbatore – Ooty highway.

The Founder Secretary of the Society Late Smt.S.S. Jayalakshmi was joined in by a dedicated group of Educationists, Philanthropists, Lawyers, Doctors and other socially relevant people from Coimbatore, to be the first Members of the Society.

Vidya Vikasini Society was registered in the year 1973 under the Societies Act.

The Institution has a tremendous track record of results and academic distinction and this is presented separately. The current strength of Vidya Vikasini Matriculation Higher Secondary School is about 2400.

Matric and Higher Secondary school curriculum of education is under the Tamil Nadu State Board and school serves a social cause of being centre for many examinations conducted by the Tamil Nadu Government because of its location apart from being a voting booth.

The school initially followed the CBSE pattern of education and was catering to the rural areas of Thudiyalur and suburbs and consequent to a request made by parents to convert the school into Matriculation Board, the school came under the Tamil Nadu State Board in the year 1990 and the +2 classes were thereafter added.
