Biography
[edit]He was a student of the Nunziatella Military School of Naples in 1924-1927.
Clemente was a member of the Italian Communist Party since 1931, he was arrested the following year and sentenced to eight years in prison and was released before the end of the sentence. He participated as a volunteer in the international brigades in the Spanish civil war. Clemente Maglietta was imprisoned in France. After the armistice he took part in the resistance movement in Naples in 1943. At the end of the conflict he was appointed as the first secretary general of the IGCL of Naples, and was elected to the Chamber of Deputies from the Communist party from 1948 to 1963.
