With more than 20 years of experience in development cooperation across Europe, South Asia, Middle East and West Africa, Vrinda Dar is an expert in designing and managing a broad spectrum of development, humanitarian and advocacy programmes. She has worked as Country Director for international NGOs and been a consultant and advisor to national governments, local civil society, and the World Bank, especially in EU, India, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Jordan, Tajikistan, Sierra Leone. Her experience includes (i) designing and managing programmes of sustainable livelihoods, humanitarian response, women’s economic leadership, violence against women, food security, participatory sustainable development, urban planning, heritage protection, municipality empowerment, economic development, microfinance, conflict resolution, social management of natural resources, human rights issues and responsible tourism; (ii) conducting results based monitoring and impact evaluation of programmes and projects; (iv) developing strategies and advocacy papers for supporting gender equality and rights based development cooperation.
