Hello, and welcome to my CVUA lesson on using STiki. STiki can be downloaded from WP:STiki and you may use it so long as you have permission, 1000 edits or the rollback right.

Using STiki

[edit]
The STiki user interface showing an incidence of vandalism. The buttons for classifying edits are on the left. The links for deeper investigation are near the bottom in "last revert" and "edit properties". The text box in the bottom left corner allows the user to modify the edit summary that is left when reverting. At the bottom of the Edit properties Box you can see a line Comment: which shows the Edit summary written while making the edit. the blank line here shows the editor did not give any edit summary.

When you start up STiki, you will be presented with an number of buttons , Innocent, Pass, Good Faith revert and Vandalism (undo). You can press any of these dependent on the edit displayed in the main window

Innocent

[edit]

This should be used if the edit is innocent and should be left alone, this is then removed from the queue and is not seen by another STiki user

Pass

[edit]

This should be used sparingly, and only if you are unsure about the edit; this will then be passed to another STiki user for review.

Good Faith Revert

[edit]

This reverts the edit that you see on the screen but does not warn the user. Only use this if the edit is not vandalism but is incorrect or otherwise unconstructive

Vandalism

[edit]

This is what you should press if you are definitely sure that it is vandalism, this reverts the edit and warns the user or reports them to Administrator Intervention Against Vandalism if they have had 3 previous warnings.

Queues

[edit]

Different queues (lists of edits ordered by vandalism risk) can be used in STiki. These are:

  • ClueBot NG This uses ClueBot NG's scoring system, edits that score over 90% are reverted by the bot, edits below are given to STiki users.
  • STiki This uses STiki's intelligent algorithim to calculate the chance of an edit being vandalism.

Questions

[edit]

Do you have any questions before I set you a simple homework? Thanks,W.D. 12:36, 29 June 2012 (UTC)

Homework

[edit]

Your homework is to keep using STiki (perhaps get to 300 classifications), and see if you like it, also try Huggle if you want to and just in general, keep up the good work. :-) W.D. 15:57, 4 July 2012 (UTC)
