Waistel is used as a Christian name by branches of the Cooper family. The origin of this practice dates from the marriage of George Robinson and Jane Wastle on the 10/01/1755. Their daughter Jane Robinson married Francis Cooper on the 04/02/1799. One of their sons was baptised Waistell Cooper on the 01/02/1808.
