Wasrts has created, contributed to, and edited articles prior to creating this user page and has contributed photographs to Wikimedia Commons that appear within a number of Wikipedia articles. Interests are diverse, including natural sciences, geography and culture, music, visual arts, theology and philosophy, and Western literature.

I often contribute or edit articles based on knowledge of regions where I have lived or worked. These include:

The American Deep South, Southern Illinois, Southeast Michigan, Pacific Northwest, and British Columbia. Currently I live in the Central Piedmont of North Carolina and I have a deep appreciation for the ecology and natural history of the Uwharrie Mountains and Uwharrie National Forest.
