Hello, all! My name is Bill Kerr, and I work at the Fleet Numerical Meteorology and Oceanography Center, in Monterey, California. In spite of my chosen handle, I am not a meteorologist. Once upon a time I was a physicist, then I became an IT specialist and I am now, sadly, a manager. But someone has to do it.

I created this page to provide a little information about myself in the event that I add something to Wikipedia that makes anyone curious about, "Who in the world would say THAT?!" As I add content to Wikipedia, I'll update this page to provide some idea of why anyone should think I know what I'm talking about.

Singles ad info: 46y/o white male, brown hair (such as it is), hazel eyes, beard, 6'2", 260#; married for 23 years, no kids; bicycle commuter, hiker, reader. Graduated with a BS in physics from San Diego State University but I spent a long time there and have a lot of credits in history and other areas that are more fun than math.

I was born in Philadelphia, I'm a Navy brat (colloquial term for a dependent child of someone in the Navy) and have lived in Japan, Guam, San Francisco, San Diego, Boston, and Monterey. I lived in San Diego for over 20 years. I have worked for the Navy my entire career, including a lot of work aboard ships and short cruises for equipment checkout and/or training, but I am not in the military.
