Marc Jacobs

Marc Jacobs was born on April 9th, 1963. He was born in New York, New York. Marc Jacobs is a well-known American fashion designer fashion he is the head of his own fashion label which is known as Marc Jacobs By Marc Jacobs. He later attended parsons school of design where he learned everything about fashion design.

Early Life and Education

At the age of 7 his life was turned upside down when his dad died of ulcerative colitis which Marc later ended up getting. The mother suffered from the death she started dating and had many failed marriages which had Jacobs and his sibling moving from place to place.

At the age of 15 Marc Jacobs enrolled in the High school of Arts and design while at school he worked at an upscale clothing boutique called Charivari where he met his mentor of fashion design Perry Ellis.

Work

After finishing school at Parsons school of design Marc Jacobs got a job with Perry Ellis. He was a creative director for Louis Vuitton from 1997 to 2014 when he created his own labels Marc Jacobs and Marc by Marc Jacobs. He created his collection two for adults and one for children and those sold at dozens of his boutiques worldwide. He later came out with perfumes and accessories and everything turned out very successful.

1. Designed hand knitted sweaters which got him his schools highest honors
2. In 1988 he was named vice president of woman's design at Perry Ellis
3. In 1993 he opened his own designs / licensing company
4. In the early 21st century he expanded his brand by coming out with more affordable sports wear
5. He was the creative director for Louis Vuitton for 16 years
6. He had a fashion show in 1994 with his own clothes
7. He was the youngest designer to ever receive an award
8. He opens up his second line of business called Marc by Marc Jacobs
9. He starts to make a higher profit than Louis Vuitton
10. He stopped being partnered and he is now working alone
