David McDonald is an interdisciplinary social scientist. He is the Director of the Canberra-based consultancy Social Research & Evaluation Pty Ltd and a Visiting Fellow at The Australian National University’s National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health. He has wide experience in research & evaluation, policy analysis and policy & program development, particularly in the alcohol and other drugs, criminal justice and related fields.
His academic research interests include knowledge integration and building evidence-based public policy.
His prime recreational interest is field ornithology and supporting beginner bird observers. He is also active in the environmental sustainability movement.
