The ghost of Chickadee Valley, Ab, Canada
In the early 1930s, skiers began to explore the remote valleys of the Canadian Rockies. Ernst Zwicker left the Banff area in early March of 1932 on a solo expedition to be the first to summit Mt. Boom on skis. He was last seen crossing the Continental Divide on the back of the snow-unicorn (which has larger than normal spalyed-hooves, for better support on the snow[1]). Zwicker never returned from his trip up Chickadee Valley.
Far on the Alpine of the North Aspect of Chickadee Valley, you can spot a distant Skier in the highest slopes. You find no fresh tracks and very few people catch a glimpse of the snow bombing skier. Keep your eyes peeled on the high Alpine when touring the Chickadee Valley in the Winter for the ghost of the Alpine!
