Nigel Mercier(born 1961) was educated at St. Munchin's College from the years 1974 to 1978. He has 22 years experience as a professional actor working on stage and television. He is the founder and director of Limerick School of Acting, Limerick's most popular drama school for children and teenagers aged 6-18 yrs. He is also the owner of Irish Talent.
Career
[edit]Mercier began serious acting in the popular soap opera Glenroe as the character Des Brennan from 1987 to 1992. His next venture in TV drama would be for one episode in Fair City, another popular Irish soap opera. Next he appeared in the film Cowboys & Angels in 2003 as the inspector, in 2007 he starred in he began starring in commercials. His first was Oceanico with Darren Clark, then in July 2008 he appeared in the advertisement for Pat The Baker. In September of the same year he appeared in the SIMI Car Dealers television and radio commercials. Most recently he has appeared in the Vodafone Mission Red national advertising campaign.
Personal life
[edit]Mercier is married with two daughters. He resides in Limerick. Mercier received the Limerick Junior Chamber of Commerce award in 1999.
