The Federation of Virginia Food Banks (FVFB) is the name given to the board that governs the Feeding America food banks in Virginia.
Mission
[edit]The FVFB helps to support the seven Virginia/Washington D.C. food banks. The Federation of Virginia Food Banks help the state of Virginia with feeding the nearly 800,000 Virginians that have little to no access to food.[1] In 2020, food insecurity in the state of Virginia increased dramatically from 9.9% to 22%, due to the coronavirus.[2] The FVFB was one of the organizations charged by Virginia's Governor Northam in October of 2020 with bringing Virginia's hunger rate down.
