The Template:Convert/words can convert a measurement in words into equivalent units of another type. For example, the phrase "a few inches" would be similar to a "half-dozen centimetres".
For numeric results, {{convert/words}} functions as a wp:wrapper template for Template:Convert, which performs the calculations.
Usage

- {{convert/words |few|inches}} → few inches (half-dozen centimetres)
- {{convert/words |six|feet}} → six feet (1.8 m)
- {{convert/words |dozen|km}} → dozen kilometres (several miles)
Parameter 1 is the amount ("few" or "several" etc.), and parameter 2 is the type of units, such as "feet" or "ft" for feet or "m" for "metre" as the unit-codes in Template:Convert.
Other examples:
- {{convert/words |quarter|mile}} → quarter mile (0.40 km)
- {{convert/words |a few|miles}} → a few miles (half-dozen km)
- {{convert/words |several|miles}} → several miles (dozen km)
- {{convert/words |nine|km}} → nine kilometres (5.6 mi)
- {{convert/words |dozen|km}} → dozen kilometres (several miles)
- {{convert/words |one-half|meter}} → one-half metre (1 ft 8 in)
- {{convert/words |One-third|impgal}} → One-third imperial gallon (1.5 L; 0.40 US gal)
- {{convert/words |few|litres}} → few litres (a few US quarts)
- {{convert/words |a|foot}} → a foot (0.30 m)
- {{convert/words |couple of|feet}} → couple of feet (1 to 1.5 m)
- {{convert/words |three|mile|adj=on}} → three-mile (4.8 km)
- {{convert/words |Sixteen|hp}} → Sixteen horsepower (12 kW)
- {{convert/words |a few|kPa}} → a few kilopascals (0.44–0.73 psi)
- {{convert/words |a few|ly}} → a few light-years (190,000–320,000 AU)
- {{convert/words |thousand|meters}} → thousand metres (3,300 ft)
Only a limited set of words are recognized, including "a few" (or "few"), "several" or "couple of" (or "couple"), "dozen", simple numbers ("one", "two", "three"... "twenty", "thirty-five", "two hundred", "thousand" etc.), and simple fractions ("half", "quarter", "one-fourth", "seven-tenths" etc.).
By 2013, more than 15,000 articles had used amounts expressed with the phrase "a few" or "couple of" units, often along with specific conversions of larger amounts.
