Child development involves the biological, psychological, and emotional changes that occur in human beings between birth and the conclusion of adolescence. It consists of 3 stages including early childhood (ages 0–5 years), middle childhood (ages 6–12 years), and adolescence (ages 13–19 years). During this development phases, the individual human progresses from dependency to increasing autonomy. The course of this progress is predictable but unique for every child. It does not progress at the same rate and the subsequent stages depend on the preceding developmental experiences. Key factors influencing child development are malnutrition, parental training, maternal health. It is important to understand social, cognitive, emotional, and educational development of children for a better society.
