I recently created a log-in for myself on Wikipedia so that I could (possibly) add some information about myself, especially in Wikipedia's 'list of linguists'. This list is being used in a site outside Wikipedia, where I was concerned that my absence from the list could be a problem. Also, my impression was (and is) that most of the (present-day) linguists in the list had added themselves.

A bit about me: I'm Editor of what is arguably the premier journal in my specialty: Language Acquisition. (I didn't include that in the Wikipedia entry, but probably should have.) To date I've published more than fifty journal articles and refereed conference papers.

One of my more influential articles is the following, published in the journal Language:

Snyder, W. (2001) "On the nature of syntactic variation: Evidence from complex predicates and complex word-formation." Language 77:324-342.

This and other works have been cited (and in a number of cases, used extensively) by other linguists. Some of the scholars who are represented in Wikipedia and cite my work are:

Noam Chomsky, Lydia White, Ray Jackendoff, Adele Goldberg, Steven Pinker

Anyhow, I don't like the business of self-promotion, but perhaps it's appropriate for me to mention this much, under the present circumstance.
