William Steven Wells is an American author, journalist and businessman. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on August 19, 1945. He graduated from Hamilton College in Clinton, New York with a degree in English literature in 1967, served in the U.S. Naval Reserve with sea duty aboard a destroyer, worked as a newspaper staff writer, radio disk jockey and wrote an internationally syndicated comic strip. He was a speechwriter for Michigan Governor William Milliken, worked as a marketing agency executive and founded a custom publishing company, The Wells Group. After his company was acquired by a magazine publishing company, Hanley-Wood Inc., he began writing novels: Ride Away Home, published by The Permanent Press in 2014 and Detective Fiction, published in 2016, with Face of the Devil scheduled for publication by Riverdale Avenue Books in 2017 and The Dollar-a-Year Detective scheduled for publication by The Permanent Press in 2018.
