Raina and Pharroah

Raina and Pharroah are an American female and male "hip rock and roll" duo from Washington, DC comprised of singer, Raina Rashad and rapper,"Pharroah" Delonte Singleton.

Rashad's mother is Maiesha Rashad, founder and bandleader for the extremely popular 70's/Funk/Go Go Band in the Washington, D.C. area in the late 90's. Bryan Rashad,a local entrepreneuer, is Raina's father.Pharroah was raised by his mother Thomasine Singleton, a real estate agent, and his grandmother in Washington, DC. Raina and Pharroah are childhood friends who consider themselves like brother and sister.

In 2006 Raina and Pharroah attracted local attention when their first single, "D DOT C", became one of the most requested records on the popular Radio-One owned, WKYS. That success lead to their first live performance together on the WKYS/DIMENSIONS ENTERTAINMENT sponsored "PRE-THANKSGIVING JAM" at D.A.R. Constitution Hall sharing the stage with such National acts as Tiffany Evans (Sony Records),and B5(Bad Boy Records). During this time they formed an independent production company and label and signed a management agreement with Raina's mother Maiesha Rashad.

Since their inception they have performed with such acts as Soldier Boy Tell "Em and appeared on BET's "106th and Park." In 2009 they shot their debut video for their single, "Goosin" with director, Cutter Hodierne. The Washington Post featured them in an article the same year while filming their second video, " Cold- Blooded" also with director Cutter Hodierne. They are currently independent artists unsigned to a major label. Their video for "Goosin" is currently in rotation on BET and BET-J.
