I am Sally Woodcock, an easel paintings conservator with a research interest in British nineteenth-century artists' materials and their suppliers. I am currently based at the Hamilton Kerr Institute and the Faculty of History, Cambridge University, completing a doctorate on the artists' colourman Charles Roberson.[1] This concentrates on the first hundred years of the company's history, 1820-1920, with special reference to oil painting materials. I am also a member of the British Art Network Sub Group British Women Artists 1750-1950.
