Marcelino’s love of wine began more than decade ago, as a Bartender and room service waiter for Pikayo Restaurant with Chef Wilo Benet in his native Puerto Rico. It was the beginning of a career path that would ultimately lead him to achieve the remarkable distinction of becoming a wine specialist and Sommelier.
Designer for Absolut Vodka drinks which was imposed only in the originality emphasizing caribbean ingredients for the global launch of the luxury Level vodka.
Marcelino has also turned his passion for wine into a successful career, working in positions in wine service, wine sales and most recently, wine education, joining Multi Training Services instructor.
After 11 years working in the Restaurant industry in Puerto Rico, in 2004, Marcelino transitioned to a key role at Ambrosia Fine Foods an important Puerto Rican fine wine distributor, where he established the island’s most prominent. His sales task and knowledge became very popular and highly acclaimed by connoisseurs and local press, attributed to his easy, entertaining, yet informative consulting style.
Today, along with his consultancy responsibilities in the most important restaurant in San Juan, Marcelino writes a some times in a wine column for Magazines and Newspapers. He also finds time to learn more and taste with Brotherhood, Comanderies and Wine Societies.
In the early ‘08 was work the position of Wine Specialist at Fine Selections an Importer and Distributor of fine wines with faster growth in this market, with this step Marce’s completes the birth of a new business where it will be important figure of Worldwide Brokers & Retailers Corp. in the wine brand management, marketing and always honoring the better prices on wines available in the market outside of Puerto Rico from all around the world.
Marcelino lives with his wife Denilsa, a food lover, in his spare time he enjoys cooking and pairing food with wine, for the enjoyment of his family and friends.
