The Battle of Beringia was a military engagement between the British Empire and the Sultanate of Darfur during the North Africa Campaign of the First World War.

The Fur army suffered heavy casualties with 261 dead, in contrast Kelly's force only suffered five killed. Most of the Fur army retreated to the capital of El Fashir where Al Dinar intended to make a last stand against the British force. The Sultans plans were interupted when most of his force dispersed upon being bombed by a British aircraft piloted by Sir John Slessor.
