Splitting of the Moon[edit]

The Splitting of the moon is a miracle attributed to Muhammad. Reference to it is mentioned in the Quran, Surah Al-Qamar verses 1 and 2.

اقْتَرَبَتِ السَّاعَةُ وَانشَقَّ الْقَمَرُ وَإِن يَرَوْا آيَةً يُعْرِضُوا وَيَقُولُوا سِحْرٌ مُّسْتَمِرٌّ

The hour drew nigh and the moon did rend asunder. And if they see a miracle they turn aside and say: Transient magic.

Early traditions refer to this event as occurring by the Prophet Muhammad.[1]

The Moving Tree[edit]

According to Ibn Ishaq's book Life of God's Messenger, the strongest member of the Quraish tribe, who is named Rukana, requests proof of Muhammad's prophethood and is so confident in his wrestling skills that he agrees that if Muhammad can defeat him in wrestling that he will convert. Muhammad easily tosses the man, and Rukana is amazed at what happens. Rukana asks for a rematch and Muhammad defeats him again, with ease. After this, Muhammad said "I can show you something more wonderful than that if you wish. I will call this tree that you see and it will come to me." Rukana requests Muhammad to do so and the tree moves towards Muhammad until it stood before him, then, Muhammad ordered the tree to go back to its place and the tree did so.[2][3]
