After almost 6 1/2 years I think that I only now realize the profoundness and the full extent of the importance of Jimbo's words (although I quoted them 6 years ago). I understand them now that the journey comes to its end. What an irony!
It was a beautiful journey with a great company, but it's time to get off the train. After all, I've been recently only occasionally editing with long periods of inertness. First, it was the lack of time; then it was some loss of interest; then a certain difficulty to cope with some developments; finally what I regard as bad or clumsy editing (often provoking however a "bad" "ownership" reaction from my part). It doesn't really matter. Wikipedia will exist for many more years (even without me!), and I am happy I followed so closely (from "inside") the years of its fast development.
My heritage are 8 nominated FAs (written in most cases from scratch), and 7 FAs I saved (alone or in cooperation with other editors) all of them still maintaining their stars (with the exception of Law, of the second FAC of which I was never informed or asked to assist). I hope some good editors will keep an eye on them.
In Wikipedia there is no "human contact" in the strict sense of the words, but sometimes I thought that I interacted with people more than in real life. After all, these people made the journey meaningful. I will remember them for the rest of my life. Robth, Aldux, Konstable, Damac, NikoSilver, Periklis, Constantine, Fut.Perf., Ceoil, Giorgos, Pel thal, Deucalionite, Avg, Athenean, Eyeless in Gaza thank you.--Yannismarou (talk) 22:57, 30 October 2012 (UTC)
