1. Early Life

The St John’s Apostle church has been known for many years and has many branches across the country, during its festivities in April and November members flock in numbers to these many branches. All this would not have been possible without the divine intervention that Mme Nku had when she was only a 12 year old girl in 1906. Though the early life of this healing church began when Christina Nku joined the AFM(Apostolic Faith Mission) and later got baptized there by a Reverend called Elias Nkitseng , during her time in this church she later had a vision of a voice that told her to take bricks and build a church for God and this church was to be situated in the west of Johannesburg which was where the first St john Apostolic Church that were to wear blue and white uniforms established.

2. Career

There is no particular career but as the founder of the church who had this gift of being a spiritual healer the church is now known by many and trusted for generations by our grandmothers .

3. Awards

No direct awards have been awarded but the church has tremendously grown as it has branches all over South Africa.

4. Relationships

Christinah Nku married Lazarus Nku and had eight children in total together and as she is a person who has visions she already knew that she would have five daughters and only three sons. So therefore within a gap of 1917 and 1936 Christinah had her eight children. The first born being : • Johannes born 1917 who later became the first ArchBishop of the church • Annah Dorah born in 1919 who inherited her mothers gift and served the church, she is also praised in some songs that are singed in St John’s Churches. • Obed born in 1921 • Mary born in 1924 • Joel born in 1928 whose son was one of the St Johns Churches • Magdeline born in 1932 • Selina born in 1936 These are all the people who made the St Johns Apostolic Church that we now know and see, there has been other Archbishops that followed in the 2000s like Archbishop Masango and some refer to the church as “Kwa Masango”
