As the winner of this match has to donate 20% of the cash prize to a non-governmental organization of the Maldives, New Radiant decided to donate to Advocating the Rights of Children (ARC) and Maziya to Care Society, if they win the 2014 Maldivian FA Charity Shield match.[6]

The Football Association of Maldives announced that former Maldives international and New Radiant player Mohamed Hussain will retire after this 2014 Maldivian FA Charity Shield match in New Radiant shirt and will use his official 16 number.
