                                              Shaqlawa instructional Hospital (Laboratory).

Laboratory is one of the crucial departments of any main hospital in the world. Shaqlawa instructional hospital consists of many different departments, and laboratory is one of them. The hospital receives about 100-150 patients daily, and most of them need tests to diagnose their situation, or monitor their processes of healing and treatments. Therefore, laboratory is crucial for shaqlawas instructional hospital. The laboratory itself consists of five (5) different departments which are ( parasite , hormones, hematology, chemical department, virus and bacteria).

Parasite: Parasite is the first department of shaqlawa instructional hospital. Parasite test is used to search for parasites and their eggs which are called (ova). This test needs a sample from the patient’s stool. After the stool sample is tested the results will be available in a week or less.

Hematology department: This department is used for blood tests. The laboratory of shaqlawa instructional hospital just had the enough devices and instruments to do the whole blood tests which are used usually for prothrombin time and bleeding time test.

Hormones department: hormones testing is another department in shaqlawa instructional hospital laboratory. This section is used to analyze the hormones stability of hormones inside the patients body. For this purpose two main instruments are used which are ( C O B A S-E 411, mini vidas). Both devices are used for the same purpose but the quality and capacity differs.

Chemical tests department: The chemical division is used to analyze general chemicals. When the doctor needs to know the chemicals rate inside patients body, searching for any shortcut or a plus in chemicals, the patient needs to do a chemical test. For this purpose the laboratory of shaqlawa instructional hospital has two main devices which are (K E N Z A 450 and B T 35 i), and they are both used for general chemical tests.

Viruses and bacteria: The last sector of shaqlawa instructional hospital laboratory is viruses and bacteria test. This lab is used for searching and detecting viruses and bacteria that cause diseases for the patients. The main device used in this part is called ELISA.
