Updating Ranking
[edit]I have been working on removing older rankings and updating rankings in articles using Template:Infobox India university ranking. So to describe all those edits in the edit summary seems redundant to me. So I would add a brief edit summary with link to this section. This would also help me to track the edits. So if you are here from the edit summary link, so here my edits mainly consist of:
- Updating all rankings to the latest version (as per the general consensus).
- If the name of the institute is not in the latest ranking. There can be two possible cases.
- The institute did not participate in the ranking.
- The institute participated, but was not ranked.
This is not possible to decide in which category the institute falls, so in both cases the ranking is simply removed from the article.
- If the ranking category is discontinued (no more published), than the older version of the ranking is kept only for 3 years (just a thumb rule), because after that it may lose relevance.
- Any content in the article leading to academic boosterism would be fixed to follow neutral point of view.
