About Me
[edit]A fan of Cirque du Soleil since seeing Alegría in 1995, I've seen many of the shows over the years and became actively involved in the community as a pre-teen. It all started with joining Cirque Tribune around 2004. Zumanity became my absolute favorite show years before I could see it live, and I followed it for the entirety of its run. I am the historian for the show in the fanbase community and have helped out with various wikis and databases over the years on the subject, as well as other Cirque shows. As far as editing on Wikipedia goes, I mainly overhaul the Zumanity page every few years, but now that the show is permanently closed I have probably finished my last big edit. The show will always live on in my soul.
I also have a huge interest in Cirque shows produced during the 1990 to 2004 period, especially the first few months of their run. Zaia, Mystère (Cirque du Soleil), and Alegría are my other favorite shows.
See Remembering the Human Zoo for a video I made about the history of Zumanity's music.
My biggest interest is continuing to learn about this show, especially in terms of its creation. Questions like:
- What was the show like when it was just René Richard Cyr directing?
- The original show was apparently 3 hours and was cut in half. What was cut?
- How long were Adam and Yves in the show and why were they removed?
- What is the difference between "Market" and "Inferno" (two names used for the same act on press releases)? What did the "scorned women" do to Antonio? I'm assuming the act was in dance form.
- I have a lot of confusion about Savage Love, Market, Fire, and Straps - when each one entered the show and what replaced what.
- I have a lot of questions about Kinnie Starrr and what she sang - early Zumanity music and acts from the first few weeks after previews.
- There are a couple of acts that existed for very short amounts of time, a straps act and another act from 2007, that I know next to nothing about.
- There are a lot of things referenced from the old Madame Diaries that I'd like to know about - for instance, who are Illusia and Illaria? The Water Bowl artists?
- I've read about Natalia Vasylyuk being the first person associated with Water Bowl but can't find anyone who knows what I'm talking about.
- Which of Dick and Izzy's acts is "Sex Toys?"
- I've also read that the show at the New York-New York Hotel and Casino was originally supposed to be a clown show. I'd like to know more about that and what paved the way to the adult-theme.
I've been known as ZumanityDelights to randoms online since about 2005.
