- I feel home in en:WP since 2007, even longer and with much more contributions in de:WP. I am well aware of rules which apply on WP articles. However, thanks for the warm and polite welcome. Enyavar (talk) 21:51, 15 January 2011 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Horace Brinsmead
[edit]A tag has been placed on Horace Brinsmead requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.Cind.amuse 20:39, 15 January 2011 (UTC)
- [Copied from the objected articles page, I hope this matter will be resolved soon and to everyones satisfaction]
- I hereby object to speedy deletion of the article. I used the specified page as main research material, that's true, but I didn't copy any complete sentences, although some word combinations seem to have remained in the first version. I have as of now removed and rephrased all sentences which could still be objected - and I included my sources as well, especially the aforementioned bio, since the first versions of the article.
- Thanks for consideration, Enyavar (talk) 21:51, 15 January 2011 (UTC)
- The article was not deleted. I have edited the speedy deletion notification above, by shortening some paragraphs. To keep in mind to be more cautious when I formulate new articles, I will keep the notification itself on this talk page, nonetheless. Enyavar (talk) 16:16, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
Hi, I'm wondering if you can add anything further about the base at Hafir el Auja. Would you know when it was established; the railway had reached there from Beersheba before December 1916 and I'm guessing that by then it was well established and probably commanded by Kress von Kressenstein. There are photos taken by the American Colony (Jerusalem) from 1914 to 1917 pages 41–9 showing the base and personnel on the Library of Congress web site at http://memory.loc.gov/phpdata/pageturner.php?type=&agg=ppmsca&item=13709&turnType=byImage&seq=41 Cheers, --Rskp (talk) 02:23, 15 November 2011 (UTC)
- Sorry, at the moment I don't know enough to provide any help in this matter. I recommend to read Kreß von Kressensteins war memories "Mit den Türken zum Suezkanal" - which are not available for me at the moment or anytime soon. Also, there is a reference to an english paper about the Palestine Campaign written by him on his wiki page. My edits in the article are just my first research step to create an overview article in de:WP. Cheers, --Enyavar (talk) 11:06, 15 November 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Xích Tỵ
[edit]I noticed that you tagged the page Xích Tỵ for speedy deletion with the reason "This redirect makes little sense: It is linked to only from the article to which it then redirects, and it's not really explained there". However, "This redirect makes little sense: It is linked to only from the article to which it then redirects, and it's not really explained there" is not currently one of our criteria for speedy deletion, so I have removed the speedy deletion tag. You can take the page to WP:RFD for discussion on the merits if you still seek deletion. Thanks! Iffy★Chat -- 16:29, 6 December 2018 (UTC)
- @Iffy: Done. And nobody has ever complained about such a byzantine way to deal with bad redirects? ;D --Enyavar (talk) 17:11, 6 December 2018 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for October 25
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Bosk, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Bosc (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 07:48, 25 October 2019 (UTC)

[edit]Maps
[edit]Hello! I'm working on the article for Sennacherib, which uses two of your maps of the Ancient Near East (these two: 1, 2). It was brought up during the ongoing FA review that their use in the English-language article might be a bit problematic since they are in German so I'm wondering if it would be possible to produce english-language versions of those two maps, if you still have access to the source files used to make them? Many thanks in advance. Ichthyovenator (talk) 22:50, 23 December 2020 (UTC)
- Hello @Ichthyovenator:, I can help you with that, possibly next month even. I had planned on translating them originally, so all that needs to be done is to actually follow through. Best, --Enyavar (talk) 18:16, 28 December 2020 (UTC)
- Hello @Ichthyovenator:, I have translated the first of these maps. Are there issues in the map key or map display that would need to be addressed, or should I continue to slowly translate the map series based on this one? --Enyavar (talk) 22:14, 25 January 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you for taking the time to do this, these maps are an excellent resource. The translation looks good; the only issue I can see is that "21th" should be "21st". Ichthyovenator (talk) 23:16, 25 January 2021 (UTC)

Fujiwara no Nagako
[edit]Thanks for writing the Fujiwara no Nagako article! She was on my to do list for Wiki Asia Month this year, but I'm not actually that interested in the Heian period so I'm really glad you got to her first. I'll probably take some time to copyedit the article after WAM. Please feel free to drop me a reminder in December if I forget. Take care! Mcampany (talk) 07:53, 11 November 2021 (UTC)

- intentionally not fixed because neither of the Johns Vallance seemed to be the right guy. --Enyavar (talk) 20:06, 2 October 2024 (UTC)
