Welcome!

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. The following links will help you begin editing on Wikipedia:

Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia

The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! Are you Jason Garfield?[edit]

Hi. Your user name is very similar to "Jason Garfield", a well-known juggler. It's not clear if you are Jason Garfield. To protect the privacy of individuals, Wikipedia has a policy against misleading usernames that impersonate other people. If you are not Jason Garfield, at the bare minimum, you will need to clearly state such on your user page. No answer will be interpreted as a violation of our account policies.

Assuming you are Garfield, there are some important links about polices at Wikipedia above in your welcome message. It is sometimes confusing for new editors to understand the complex web of policies so to make your editing most enjoyable, I recommend reading some of that material. Editors should not generally edit on topics for which they may have a conflict of interest. Material added to Wikipedia should also be properly sourced. Your two initial edits are slightly problematic: the one is a potential conflict of interest, while the other adds information not in the source that was already present. PS You may also wish to read WP:REALNAME which discusses the pros and cons of using a real name at Wikipedia. Jason Quinn (talk) 01:04, 1 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
With no answer forthcoming, I have blocked this account to protect against possible impersonation and disruption caused by the user name. Note that you can still edit this talk page. If you are the person indicated by the username, you can get the block lifted. Jason Quinn (talk) 18:41, 7 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
This account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because the username, Jasongarfield, matches the name of a well-known, living person.

If you are the person represented by this username, please note that the practice of blocking such usernames is to protect you from being impersonated, not to discourage you from editing Wikipedia. You are welcome to continue to edit under this username, but we ask the following:

  1. Please be willing and able to prove your identity to Wikipedia.
  2. Please send an e-mail to info-en@wikimedia.org. Be aware that the volunteer response team that handles e-mail is indeed operated entirely by volunteers, and the reply may not be immediate.

If you are not the person represented by this username, you are welcome to choose a new username (see below).

A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive, or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account

You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines. Jason Quinn (talk) 18:36, 7 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
