Welcome to Wikipedia![edit]

Dear MoiraMoira: Welcome to Wikipedia, a free and open-content encyclopedia. I hope you enjoy contributing. To help get you settled in, I thought you might find the following pages useful:

Don't worry too much about being perfect. Very few of us are! Just in case you are not perfect, click here to see how you can avoid making common mistakes.

If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions.

Wikipedians try to follow a strict policy of never biting new users. If you are unsure of how to do something, you are welcome to ask a more experienced user such as an administrator. One last bit of advice: please sign any discussion comment with four tildes (~~~~). The software will automatically convert this into your signature which can be altered in the "Preferences" tab at the top of the screen. I hope I have not overwhelmed you with information. If you need any help just let me know. Once again welcome to Wikipedia, and don't forget to tell us about yourself and be BOLD! Be in touch. Yours, Smeelgova 13:52, 21 October 2006 (UTC).[reply]

Thanx Smeelgova - I hope to occasionally contribute some small bits (mostly from my Dutch wikipedia data so perhaps can add some relevant bits from my contributions there here). MoiraMoira 14:28, 21 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. Have fun! Smeelgova 14:32, 21 October 2006 (UTC).[reply]

How to create a User Page[edit]

You may wish to create a User Page. You can just click on the red "user page" tab uptop, or invariably also click here to edit. There is some interesting information on User Pages at Wikipedia:User page. Here is the list of Userboxes, and this is some Wikipedia information about Userboxes. Yours, Smeelgova 14:37, 21 October 2006 (UTC).[reply]

  • Thanx Smeelgova! I will put my Dutch wiki one on and edit it when I have time! MoiraMoira 15:58, 21 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
    • Cool. Smeelgova 16:00, 21 October 2006 (UTC).[reply]
      • Unfortunately my Dutch boxes do not come across so I'll select some from your links!

Kalla Fakta[edit]

  • You need to provide citations to backup your information on the Landmark Education page, or else it is common that others will simply delete it outright without hesitation. As it is, I added some "citations needed". I am most curious if you have more information regarding this broadcast you mentioned in the article. You can either e-mail me or post on my talk page. Yours, Smeelgova 04:24, 24 October 2006 (UTC).[reply]
    • From the Dutch page on Landmark Education the references needed:

Op 6 juni 2004 werden ook alle activiteiten in Zweden beëindigd. Ook in dat land waren de oorzaken een sterk teruggelopen interesse voor de cursussen en was er een samenhang met zeer kritische artikelen in de pers en items in televisieprogramma's, ondermeer de daar op 28 oktober 2003 en 15 maart 2004 uitgezonden documentaires in het programma "Kalla Fakta" op de Zweedse zender TV4 onder de titel "Lyckka till salu" (Geluk te Koop). Best wishes, MoiraMoira 19:54, 27 October 2006 (UTC) I also added the reference for the other Swedish matters. MoiraMoira 20:12, 27 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Moira-Moira[edit]

Borgdorff, e.i. via: 86.83.155.44 (talk) 17:26, 16 July 2008 (UTC) = Translated:[reply]
Dear Moira, will you finally one day NOT destroy my pages again, but once give an example of neatly behaviour, such as a good sysop decently being moderator and administrator either? With collegiate compliments from D.A. Borgdorff, E.PEng. via: 86.83.155.44 (talk) 17:54, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, you don't "have" a talk page to misuse for link spam, copy vio, placing personal messages, attacking dutch wikipedians wiki wide, placing self references and utter nonsense wiki wide. You never have contributed to any wikipedia version, you only mis use the encyclopedia seeking attention and doing senseless or destructive edits. You have been blocked on many wikipedia versions already. It is time to call it a day I'd say. MoiraMoira (talk) 20:20, 2 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I did starting again, but your "selfruling" looks to be stalking still, which is not acceptable, as you self are proud to write articles against socalled: " cyberharassments", which you (on the contrary) doing it even now by yourself. And in none of all countries you're even speaking the local languages, which I'm still trying to do as well. Still want to be friedly with you, notwithstanding you are evermore hunting towards me ...
You'd better turn into a nice Shepherd before the (re)turn of the tide. D.A. Borgdorff —86.83.155.44 (talk) 23:28, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Warning[edit]

Even though I did not expect to have to use templates on long term users:

This is the only warning you will receive for your disruptive edits.
If you vandalize Wikipedia again, as you did to user talk:86.83.155.44, you will be blocked from editing.

And now the explanation:

All items refactored are his own remarks, and if you look closely, he only moves things around. Please stop harrassing, I am absolutely NOT happy with a couple of Dutch editors (admins and bureaucrats even!) who perform this type of edits, resulting in the editor being blocked for only editing on his own talkpage. If it was very advertising then I can concur, but he is linking to images! Please stop, as you were also asked by this user himself. --Dirk Beetstra T C 14:10, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your warning. This is much appreciated I'd say. Also thank you kindly for not even taking the trouble to enquire what is the matter here nor reading my reply above here. Such kind and polite and cooperative and fair behaviour is utterly unexpected to be found here and new to me. May I know whether you have blocking rights here? MoiraMoira (talk) 14:33, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I am following this discussion already for some time, and am now busy on WP:ANI, I may miss something crucial, but you performed this edit before, were reverted by the user himself, and the user started a discussion. User talkpages are not owned by a user, but if they want to refactor/disemvowel, or whatever action on the talkpage linked to their account, then that is very well allowed (they don't even have to . If they remove warnings, it is assumed they read it, and therefor, they have all the right to remove it. And nothing here gets removed from the comments by other users, as you suggest.

What bothers me is that there are 4-5 people who are mainly active on the nl wikipedia who follow this editor here, and refactor his contributions, and change things on his talkpage, without informing local administrators about the case. I hope this explains. --Dirk Beetstra T C 14:42, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the explanation. I merely am very annoyed to get a warning to be blocked without reason nor reasonable request to explain. Be assured I have been asked via wiki-chat and talk page by colleagues on several other versions what was the matter so I became involved and discovered the person is doing weird things everywhere including harrassing dutch people elsewhere. To simply conclued I would harrass/follow some one and threathen to block me here is beyond my comprehension and does not make me feel very comfortable about the ethics of my colleagues here nor entices me to edit here at all anymore. MoiraMoira (talk) 14:54, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The user may indeed do strange edits, but if I see the user doing edits here, which are then removed by a couple of editors who seem to have followed him from nl, I am curious if it is him harrassing others or others harrassing him here. I see you get involved later, but these two reverts you state he is deleting information from others, which is simply not true, all that is removed is in his own remarks. And even, he does not have to answer messages on his talkpage, I also reserve the right to not answer and revert (see user talk:Beetstra, quoting: "I preserve the right not to answer to non-civil remarks, or subjects which are covered in this talk-header."). The thing is, you are user number 3 or 4, all originating from nl, who perform similar edits on his talkpage, all refactoring his comments!
I have been doubting between giving this a {{uw-vandalism1}} or a higher one, but as you repeat this edit twice, while the user is still in discussing, where I do not see any reason why (yes, I have to dig around, nl, it ..), giving a 'false' edit summary made me choose a higher level one. I do not expect that I have to follow up on it.
I have opened a thread on ani, this is probably beyond me only. see WP:ANI#Dutch_administrators.2C_bureaucrats_and_editors_handling_of_User:86.83.155.44. --Dirk Beetstra T C 15:03, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I and several other admins on wiki-nl have tried, coached and helped this ano to no avail. He is currently blocked for 3 months with us now. Since I was one of the people that probably was at wiki-nl some time ago in the same stage where you are now on wiki-en I do understand your position. Also I blocked and unblocked him <sigh>. Also I helped him archive, helped him, explained matters, warned him about self references and linkspam and attacking people and now he moves to other versions complaining on about dutch events hence my attention was asked by fellow wikipedians noticing this. Both colleagues on other versions as well as a wikipedian on wiki-nl asked me via wikichat and talk page to look into the matter which I did and problably ended up too deep seeing your shooting first tapproach. How ever perhaps the habits on various versions differ. I never have officially warned a fellow editor in this long term affair I may say and he bumped into many many conflicts and edit wars with us. Good luck with this editor here. May he have a nice playing ground here and place his attacks in dutch and english again and again but then it is no longer up to me but trust you learn dutch and deal with the problems. I rest my case, it has cost me more than enough negative energy to spend cumulating into this warning from you <sigh>. Thank you how ever for this exchange and your willingness to explain your actions how ever. I have been involved in a friendly exchange with colleagues from other wiki versions many many times and helped solve and confer and discussed cross wiki matters always in a nice way. This is the first time I encountered such a treatment and it frankly leaves me speechless and perhaps next time you can approach another dutch colleague when cross wiki talk is needed to solve a problem or ask some one else to contact me who is more willing to assume good faith and willing to ask first and shoot later. Your warning was very clear and you now have succeeded in stopping me from editing on wiki-en. MoiraMoira (talk) 15:35, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
(ec)I am sorry you feel this way, but I do see that you performed two edits here which are IMHO questionable, and you undo also legit edits by user:86.83.155.44 (of which I suggested that I did not like it I mentioned that I did not like his use of my title, as that could still be explained as adulting behaviour). He was, again IMHO, discussing this with you in an orderly way, still you do the same action again. Unwanted edits to others peoples talkpages are regarded as vandalism here, and as you were not doing (even unknowingly) what you said in your edit summary. Also, these edits do not resolve the issues with this editor, you only throw more oil on the fire.
I have blocked him twice, I am not helping him much, and I will reblock him as soon as he steps out of line.
I assumed good faith at first, first with Erik Baas, and then with you (I also saw your first revert of his edits, where you also stated that he removed info), but none of you brought this to local noticeboards (WT:WPSPAM, WP:COIN, WP:ANI), but proceed in doing edits to his talkpage. I am sorry you now were the 'druppel die de emmer deed overlopen'. --Dirk Beetstra T C 16:08, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you again for your reply. I kindly ask you to take this matter elsewhere now. There is no use any more contacting me here. Your actions are quite clear to me now and this means a conclusion to my contributions to this wikipedia. If needed in the future I am sure there are many kind and cooperative colleagues of mine available on wiki-nl to inform you on the two banned users on wiki-nl who now seem to be able to continue with similar actions on your wikipedia version. I am no longer one of them to ask about a solution or help. MoiraMoira (talk) 17:31, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
