I trust there's a very good reason why Cedric Smith needs to be listed first and in boldface among people who have sung "Carrickfergus", rather than adding his name to the already existing entry for Loreena McKennitt in that list. —Tamfang (talk) 22:08, 25 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, there was a very good reason .   However, I will not dignify your smug & condescending comment by giving you the reason .  IF you did truly " trust there's a very good reason " ( as you stated in your message to me ) , then you would not have deleted my minor edit .   So petty of you !   I'd bet that awesome Wikipedian Steven Pruitt would not have deleted my minor edit .
By the way, I checked out your User page, Tamfang. Wow !   You are so full of yourself !   LOL   You come off as a vainglorious braggart & egotist . . . AND a pseudo Sheldon ( Big Bang Theory ) .   No doubt you bore people to an unbearable ennui by being a blow~hard .   I highly doubt that anyone truly cares or is impressed with what you've done or can do .   Trust that .
Steven Pruitt has a right to brag about his accomplishments, however his user page is humble compared to yours .  He could've mentioned that TIME magazine named him one of " The 25 Most Influential People on the Internet "(2017) and that CBS This Morning did a piece on him .  He could've also mentioned that Wikipedia honoured him with a page . However, he didn't . . . because he's not a braggart like you .   Aspire to be somewhat humble ( like Pruitt ) & do some serious editing ( like Pruitt ) . . . instead of nit~picking !
Anyway, if you reply, I will not respond . . . no matter what you say .   Responding further to you would be a waste of my precious time .   Besides, I refuse to engage in a battle of wits with an unarmed man .

I think you misunderstand the term "minor edit" as it is used around here. —Tamfang (talk) 19:59, 3 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That awesome Wikipedian Steven Pruitt seems not to concern himself much with content, so far as I've noticed, he spends most of his energy on what we may call infrastructure. So no, he would probably not undo your efforts to promote Cedric Smith's legacy. —Tamfang (talk) 20:41, 4 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
In hindsight I ought not to have reverted so quickly the second time; better to wait awhile for someone else to do so, establishing that I'm not alone in my view. Oh well. —Tamfang (talk) 20:35, 4 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. You also need to immediately stop all the persona attacks above. Comment on content, not editors. Any more WP:NPA violations and your account will be blocked from editing. Sergecross73 msg me 11:44, 17 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
