Spam[edit]

Inserting references to an unrelated book into hundreds of different articles is considered spamming. If you continue to use Wikipedia for advertising, you will be blocked from editing. Catamorphism 05:34, 16 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to appear less like a spammer, you can add descriptive text that's integrated into an existing article that cites one of the Sobel books as a reference. You'll find this takes more time and effort than merely adding the book to the References section of hundreds of articles, but at the same time, it will require you to find articles where the books are truly relevant. Indiscriminately adding the book to the References sections of many articles makes it look like you're only interested in using Wikipedia to promote an author, rather than being interested in improving the encyclopedia. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
