Welcome

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your amazing contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

Here are some other hints and tips:

  • I would recommend that you get a username. You don't have to log in to read or edit articles on Wikipedia, but creating an account is quick, free and non-intrusive, requires no personal information, and there are many benefits of having a username. (If you edit without a username, your IP address is used to identify you instead.)
  • When using talk pages, please sign your name at the end of your messages by typing four tildes (~~~~). This will automatically produce your username (or IP address) and the date.

If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my Talk page, or type {{helpme}} on this talk page and a user will help you as soon as possible. I will answer your questions as far as I can. I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian. CWC 13:11, 27 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding edits to Talulah Riley[edit]

Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia, 128.135.98.105! However, your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove spam from Wikipedia. If you were trying to insert a good link, please accept my creator's apologies, but note that the link you added, matching rule \bfreewebs\.com\/.+, is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. Please read Wikipedia's external links guidelines for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! Thanks for edits to Hugh Hewitt[edit]

Thanks for your edits to our article on Hugh Hewitt. I've tweaked the article a little more. Two very small points:

  • It's OK to spell out words like "University" and "born".
  • The preferred style is to put punctuation before links,[like this], not after[like this]. (I myself disagreed with this at first, but have come to much prefer it.)

Normally, I wouldn't mention such tiny points when welcoming a new editor, but you're clearly a great asset to this project, so I'd like to help you climb the learning curve. (We do realize that it takes a while to understand how everything works around here — after all, it took us long enough. See WP:BITE.)

Again, welcome! (And please do consider registering.) Thanks, CWC 13:11, 27 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
