April 2016[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page João Vale de Almeida has been reverted.
Your edit here to João Vale de Almeida was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (http://twitter.com/ValedeAlmeida) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a blog, forum, free web hosting service, fansite, or similar site (see 'Links to avoid', #11), then please check the information on the external site thoroughly. Note that such sites should probably not be linked to if they contain information that is in violation of the creator's copyright (see Linking to copyrighted works), or they are not written by a recognised, reliable source. Linking to sites that you are involved with is also strongly discouraged (see conflict of interest).
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 15:09, 4 April 2016 (UTC)
If this is a shared IP address, and you didn't make the edit, please ignore this notice.

People working for the European Commission...[edit]

as you seem to do (http://whois.domaintools.com/158.169.150.4) should not, I repeat, not, promote racist fringe theories. Things like these get rapidly out of hand. --Edelseider (talk) 10:35, 29 April 2016 (UTC)

March 2017[edit]

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that a recent edit of yours to the page Åbo Bloodbath has an edit summary that appears to be inaccurate or inappropriate. The summaries are helpful to people browsing an article's history, so it is important that you use edit summaries that accurately tell other editors what you did. Feel free to use the sandbox to make test edits. The edit seemed to remove a category and add it to another where both categories seemed relevant. Please add a new category instead of changing a present one. Thank You! Yashovardhan (talk) 13:06, 20 March 2017 (UTC)

Information icon Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit you made to Linköping Bloodbath, did not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use the sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Please consider adding a new category seperately instead of modifying one already established. Thank you! Yashovardhan (talk) 13:11, 20 March 2017 (UTC)

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so you can avoid further irrelevant notices.
I discovered the undo on Linköping Bloodbath, and explained to Yashovardhan Dhanania on the talk page why it was appropriate and the undo was not. It's been redone, and my apologies for the trouble.
After seeing it here, I fixed the Åbo Bloodbath one, too.) I don't know what the complaint about the edit summary was about; "tweak categories" is fine. I suppose "make categories more specific" would have been even better, but it's hardly necessary. The edit made a minor revision to the categories, and the edit summary reflected that. Thank you! 71.41.210.146 (talk) 15:45, 20 March 2017 (UTC)
Thank you very much for fixing up the mess I created. I really should have looked into the matter more clearly! I apologise again to both of you. Thanks a lot! Yashovardhan (talk) 15:57, 20 March 2017 (UTC)

Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, 158.169.150.4. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. This IP seems to be registered to the European Commission. Please go through the linked articles to ensure this IP is not violating any policy. Thank you!
