Mike: You need to familiarize yourself with Article 29.5 of the Code. It says, very explicitly: "29.5. Maintenance of current spellings. If a spelling of a family-group name was not formed in accordance with Article 29.3 but is in prevailing usage, that spelling is to be maintained, whether or not it is the original spelling and whether or not its derivation from the name of the type genus is in accordance with the grammatical procedures in Articles 29.3.1 and 29.3.2." In other words, it is WAY too late for you to try to change the spelling of Thrinchostomini to Thrinchostomatini based on grammar. Article 29.5 is specifically to PREVENT people from doing stuff like that. Yes, it's too bad that it wasn't formed in the grammatically correct way when first coined, but it's TOO LATE to change it now. Please don't try to perpetuate this proposed spelling change anywhere else, like in print, because you are violating the Code by doing so. Dyanega (talk) 23:06, 13 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
