In reading the bio of Peter Revson, a race car driver that was killed in S. Africa, while practicing for the 1974 Gran Prix race (March 1974). There was no mention of his winning a USAC race in addition to his F 1 and other victories. Pete won a USAC race at Raceway Park, (IRP)in Crawfordsville Indiana, in the summer of 1969, (July or Aug). He drove Jack Brabham's Indy car in the race. It was a two heat race, - Dan Gurney was fastest qualifier, Al Unser started 2nd and Peter Revson was 3rd on the grid. Gurney's car blew the engine, Al Unser won the first heat, with Revson 2nd. Revson won the 2nd heat and was declared the overall winner. I believe Al Unser spun out during the 2nd heat. Jack Brabham left his Indy car in Indianapolis after the 1969 race. He flew back to England to test his F 1 car. He had an accident in testing, broke his leg, and could not return to the US for the USAC race. Revson was picked to drive his race car.
