Warnings[edit]

February 2014[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm XLinkBot. I wanted to let you know that I removed one or more external links you added to the page Jay Diggins, because they seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links.
Your edit here to Jay Diggins was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (http://www.youtube.com/user/iamjaydiggins) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. a sound or video file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy, as well as other parts of our external links guideline. If the information you linked to is indeed in violation of copyright, then such information should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file, or consider linking to the original.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 13:56, 11 February 2014 (UTC)

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed your recent edit to CIE 1931 color space does not have an edit summary. Please provide one before saving your changes to an article, as the summaries are quite helpful to people browsing an article's history.

The edit summary appears in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. Thanks!

Also, I suggest to review this guideline: WP:ENGVAR

BarrelProof (talk) 16:27, 22 April 2014 (UTC)

Your changes to Color space and Color model seem to have the same issues (but I don't see a problem with your changes to Candela, Lumen, Radiance and Irradiance, since the WP:ENGVAR-related changes in those edits seem to be improving the consistency of what was already the dominant variation in those articles). —BarrelProof (talk) 16:30, 22 April 2014 (UTC)

Guidelines on national varieties of English[edit]

Information icon In a recent edit, you changed one or more words or styles from one national variety of English to another. Because Wikipedia has readers from all over the world, our policy is to respect national varieties of English in Wikipedia articles.

For a subject exclusively related to the United Kingdom (for example, a famous British person), use British English. For something related to the United States in the same way, use American English. For something related to another English-speaking country, such as Canada, Australia, or New Zealand, use the variety of English used there. For an international topic, use the form of English that the original author used.

In view of that, please don't change articles from one version of English to another, even if you don't normally use the version in which the article is written. Respect other people's versions of English. They, in turn, should respect yours. Other general guidelines on how Wikipedia articles are written can be found in the Manual of Style. If you have any questions about this, you can ask me on my talk page or visit the help desk. Thank you. --Srleffler (talk) 01:23, 23 April 2014 (UTC)

Your repeated edit and its reference to "international spelling"[edit]

Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at CIE 1931 color space. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been reverted or removed.

  • If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor then please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page. Alternatively you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant notice boards.
  • If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive, until the dispute is resolved through consensus. Continuing to edit disruptively could result in loss of editing privileges.

I see that you repeated the change of spelling, this time with the edit summary "reverted to international spelling". I actually have a significant amount of sympathy with the concept of international spelling. However, that is not the way Wikipedia has agreed to manage its articles. Again I suggest to please read the WP:ENGVAR section of the Wikipedia:Manual of Style. Rather than attempting to apply "international spelling", Wikipedia prefers to allow different articles to use different varieties of English and to have stability in regard to which variety is used in a particular article. Your repetition of the change seems disruptive and unhelpful, since it seems to not follow this guideline.

Please also see where the Wikipedia:Manual of Style says "Style and formatting should be consistent within an article, though not necessarily throughout Wikipedia. Where more than one style is acceptable, editors should not change an article from one of those styles to another without a good reason. Edit warring over optional styles is unacceptable." —BarrelProof (talk) 16:30, 23 April 2014 (UTC)

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Talk:Main Page, you may be blocked from editing. Babita arora 11:03, 15 December 2014 (UTC)

The edit said this: "If you think that 'Fuck is such a tepid word that literally just means sex' I think you're missing the whole point of that article?" That was a quote there. So it's ok to use the f-word on the Main Page, but not in a direct quote in a dicussion? That's hypocrisy of the highest order. 20.133.0.13 (talk) 11:15, 15 December 2014 (UTC)
