Information icon Hello, I'm Cocobb8. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Larry Bissonnette seemed less than neutral and has been removed. If you think this was a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Cocobb8 (💬 talk • ✏️ contribs) 16:50, 4 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think is is neutral to discredit his voice, life and work. He communicates because he can't talk, someone touches his arm and he types ( i have talked with him countless times and had amazing conversations) your assessment of is communication does significant harm to him and his legacy. You are basically calling him a fraud. That is not neutral. 204.13.41.249 (talk) 16:56, 4 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

His life and work has been to push back against the scientific community who doesn't recognize his voice and choice of communication as "not valid." Please see the above article from 2022 in regards to how FC is being reassessed and how much damage has been done to people like Larry who are judged by how they find a way to use their voice. 204.13.41.249 (talk) 17:04, 4 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Although this was quickly discredited as a valid communication technique (Skeptical Inquirer claims that "it is clear that their facilitators are prompting them by touching an arm or shoulder as they type"),---then why is it his only way on communicating for 25 years?? So he is not communicating with people- have you watch his film?? This is such a disservice to him and his legacy as an advocate for FC. 204.13.41.249 (talk) 17:11, 4 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It does not matter whether any editors personally have watched his film. What matters is what reliable sources say about facilitated communication. What is in the article is not a determination made by Wikipedia or its editors but the scholarly consensus as represented in the sources. —C.Fred (talk) 18:48, 4 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
