Germany[edit]

I see that you are changing references to "West Germany" and "East Germany" to "Germany" on the grounds that "there is no West or East Germany any more". However, policy here is to record the situation as it was at the time. For example, when Heidi Klum was born, in 1973, she was born in West Germany, not the unified country that did not then exist. Her birth is therefore noted as having taken place in West Germany. I suggest that you ask on the talk pages concerned before doing any more of these changes as they will all be reverted and you will have wasted your time. Coup d'etat[edit]

There is no need to replace this expression with an English phrase. This is an accepted loan from the French, often used as shorthand for the overthrow of a Government, usually from within. Coup d'etat even has its own article. Britmax (talk) 09:13, 3 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. While replacing "en route" with "along the way" is probably justified, not all "foreign words" should be replaced. English has a long and colorful history of borrowing words from other languages when they're useful or more expressive than the available native words, so please take care in your edits. In particular "coup" is much better than "overthrow", which is not actually a word that stands alone well, without "of the government". Beyond My Ken (talk) 20:28, 15 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello 212.114.159.142. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "MUDr. Fridolin Zavarsky, CSc".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/MUDr. Fridolin Zavarsky, CSc}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save page", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. JMHamo (talk) 22:56, 5 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
