BirthDay

[edit]

Yep May 2nd is my birthday. DBZROCKS 12:05, 2 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. DBZROCKS 12:11, 2 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WP:UAA

[edit]

Yes, I know that it's supposed to be reported at WP:UAA, but until WP:UAA is officially recognized as a notice board, WP:AIV can still be used. I'm not going to revert, but please respond to my talkpage. Cool Bluetalk to me 12:33, 6 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, alright. I actually sometimes report to both, but, I guess it doesn't really matter... The guy was blocked anyways. Well, thanks. Cool Bluetalk to me 13:20, 6 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've semi-protected this for a day in the hope that the idiot gets bored. I'm sorry, but this protection will hit you as an unregistered user as well; this is no reflection upon you. Thanks.  ⋐⋑ REDVEЯS 12:37, 6 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AndyZ

[edit]

There were useful things on AndyZ's page relating to his peer review script, which I use. I know the directories are still there, but I don't think the links to them should be deleted, for others who come along. What should be done? Ruhrfisch 21:08, 7 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wiki Maan

[edit]

Thank you for reporting Wiki Maan (talk · contribs) to WP:UAA. While the name is similar to an existing vandal, Wikiman, that vandal is not a recurring problem and this is a fairly generic name, and the new account is not spamming. As such, I have not prohibited the username. Please re-report them if you observe them start spamming. —dgiestc 23:46, 7 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Careful touching sockpuppet tags

[edit]

As an anon user, I should warn you that touching sockpuppet tags, even if you meant well, is very likely to get you confused with the sockpuppeter. This goes double when the puppeteer in question has a history of interfering with sock tags. While you should be bold, in questions of identity management its good to be cautious if you are an anon. —dgiestc 20:44, 9 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I know, it has already happened. Somebody though I was User:mr oompapa. --24.136.230.38 20:50, 9 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, can you be more careful?--AirFrance358 00:04, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Uh, he's got multiple accounts and is trying to hide that fact. —dgiestc 03:54, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Anonymous Contributer Barnstar

[edit]
The Anonymous Contributer Barnstar
For being one of the few anonymous IP contributers on Wikipedia, I award you the Anonymous Contributer Barnstar. You are one of the best examples of an IP user who regularly helps to better Wikipedia. Keep up the good work! -- Hdt83 Chat 22:06, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Seconded. Not to rain on the whole "anons can be good contributers too" but I'd like to prod you to make an account. You probably value the anonymity of editing w/o account, but in some ways having a user name is more anonymous. If you pick a username that has no connection to your real identity, it is not easily connectible to you, whereas now anyone can tell you use Earthlink in or near Cary, NC. Also, your account name can be changed, while your IP is at the whim of your ISP, and if your IP changes for any reason, your whole history is taken from you. Furthermore, anons can't make new pages, have a watchlist (which is surprisingly useful), set site preferences, use custom Javascript tools, etc etc [1]. Unfortunately if you make an account, there is no way to assign your edits to the new account, but isn't it better to do it now while you're relatively new than have it happen when you least expect it if your ISP changes your IP? —dgiestc 22:24, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Question

[edit]

Hi! Wikipedia currently has a problem with the orange "You have new messages" bar. Usually on a registered user, the bar works correctly in that it appears when a message is sent and disappears after viewing the message. For anonymous IPs however, there is a problem where the "Messages" bar either does not appear when a message is sent or becomes stuck after viewing the message. Since you're an IP, do you experience any of these problems? -- Hdt83 Chat 03:47, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes I do, I experience it a lot. That's why I might register soon. --24.136.230.38 19:57, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Barnstar!

[edit]
The Surreal Barnstar
For adding an extra special version of "special flavor" - being anonymous - you are awarded this barnstar. Use it well! G1ggy Talk - Chalk 01:18, 19 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Account?

[edit]

Why don't you get an account? Your admin matterial! Ryan Postlethwaite 23:01, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You... really think so? I actually was considering getting an account very soon due to an annoying anon bug. --24.136.230.38 23:24, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Don't think so, I know so! Please get one, we'll move your userpage over to your account - you'll lose your edits, although they can be refereced to. Get an account, edit for a couple of months, get a few thousand edit on the account, then lets get you through an RfA! Ryan Postlethwaite 23:28, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You've got a barnstar. I can just tell you'll be a GREAT Wikipedian! Go for it! You're great! ;-) A•N•N•A hi! 20:59, 22 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. I undid your redirect and put back in the sock tag, sorry! The idea being that the account would end up being counted in the correct category. Thanks - Alison 22:16, 22 May 2007 (UTC) (and what Ryan said. Get an account :-) )[reply]

Yey!

[edit]

Whats your username?! Ryan Postlethwaite 23:32, 22 May 2007 (UTC) I second that. What is it? GDonato (talk) 19:47, 29 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
