Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Jeffrey Jones, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. The reverted edit can be found here. Yeah, that change was done by your robot program!!!! how can a robot tell if an edit is good or bad? It cannot. I spent three hours putting together an update for this wiki article and your damn robot zapped it in a flash. So i un-did what ur robot did. i also made a complaint about this on ur talk page, too, since that is what you said to do.24.243.2.132 (talk)Biggus_Dickus

I've left a comment back at WP:RFUP. I think you've got a misunderstanding. Connormahtalk 23:23, 14 July 2010 (UTC)
Your query has been addressed by HJ on WP:RFUP. Connormahtalk 23:35, 14 July 2010 (UTC)

I didn't see anything there except some note from some guy closing off the discussion. So i have no clue as to what went on. thanks, I guess.

Hi, all you need to do is click the '[show]', and it will expand and show the comments. Connormahtalk 23:45, 14 July 2010 (UTC)

okay, I finally figured it out. he says he is using a 'script', which to me sounds a lot like robot, since it is an automated process. I don't know what a script is. But doing hundreds of revisions in minutes hardly sounds like there is much human involvement. But again, I don't know anything about script or robots and the like. Also, I don't even know the best way to talk to you. Do i just respond by typing under what you wrote? Or do i go to your page and try to send you a message? i have been doing both since I don't know what works. thanks again.24.243.2.132 (talk) 23:57, 14 July 2010 (UTC)

It's called Igloo and is perfectly legal. In fact Wikipedia has over 1000 bots roaming the 'pedia. I use it, and so does he. We even have a whole section on bots! Allmightyduck What did I do wrong? 00:03, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
Also, just reply at the bottom of the user's talk page if you initated the discussion, and if they did on your page, reply below it, and indent one line with a colon (:). Also, be sure to end all of your four tildes, or squigglys (~). Allmightyduck What did I do wrong? 00:07, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

Sorry. I did not mean to imply or say that it was illegal. This is my first encounter with something like this. I will have to look into this more and try to find out more. I don't know what 'bots' are or what they do or how they work, or how they help. Maybe there is a wikipedia article on them. lol

No problem :). I welcomed you below, and the message has a plethora of links on it. Enjoy wikipedia! (read up on bots at WP:BOTS) Allmightyduck What did I do wrong? 00:09, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
Also, consider creating an account if you plan on becoming a regular. Allmightyduck What did I do wrong? 00:11, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

Article discussion[edit]

Please I don't want to discuss articles on my talkpage, please discuss at the article talkpage or the thread that is at the WP:BLPN also thanks. Off2riorob (talk) 23:54, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

J Jones[edit]

Hi! I've replied on my talkpage (and I'll reply only then in future, as I like to keep discussions in one place), however I felt it might make life easier if I copied my reply here:

Firstly, if I'd felt you had acted inappropriately I would have raised it directly with you - so please don't feel my response was in any way a criticism of you.
My response was driven by the fact that the article was a "BLP" - an article about a living person - and we need to be very careful when handling such articles. As such I erred on the side of caution and removed the section you'd added. I was sufficiently unsure as to whether or not I was acting correctly that I requested that other editors, more experienced in dealing with BLPs, review what I'd done (I did this by posting on a noticeboard that considers BLP issues).
The feedback I received on the noticeboard (from Off2riorob) was that I was probably being a little too cautious. Off2riorob subsequently re-added much of the content I'd removed.
Hope that clarifies things! In summary, you did everything correctly, I was extremely cautious, and everything worked out OK in the end!
